What Is This Job?

AIIMS is hiring Nursing Officers for hospitals across India. This is a Group-B government job, which means it's a mid-level position with good salary and benefits. The job is for all AIIMS hospitals (including 19 newly created ones), NITRD Delhi, JIPMER Puducherry, ESIC, and other central government hospitals.

Vacancy Details

The exact number of Nursing Officer posts is not fixed in the notification. Vacancies will be filled as per the requirement in each AIIMS and institute. The salary for this job is in Pay Level-7, which ranges from ₹44,900 to ₹1,42,400 per month.

Who Can Apply?

Education Required

You need one of these nursing qualifications:

• B.Sc. (Hons.) Nursing or B.Sc. Nursing from an Indian Nursing Council or State Nursing Council recognized institute
• B.Sc. (Post-Certificate) or Post-Basic B.Sc. Nursing from a recognized institute
• Diploma in General Nursing Midwifery from a recognized institute or board

Registration

You must be registered as a Nurse & Midwife with your State Nursing Council or Indian Nursing Council.

Work Experience

You need at least 2 years of experience working in a hospital that has at least 50 beds. This experience must be gained after completing your nursing qualification.

Age Limit

You must be between 18 and 30 years old as of August 13, 2026.

Important Dates

Application Fee

The application fee is ₹3,000 for general candidates. If you belong to SC or ST category, you pay ₹2,400. Candidates with disabilities (PWD) do not need to pay any fee.

You must pay online using Debit Card, Credit Card, or Net Banking. No other payment method is accepted.

How the Selection Works

The selection has two stages:

• Stage-1 (Preliminary Exam): A computer-based test on September 12, 2026. This exam checks your basic knowledge.
• Stage-2 (Main Exam): A computer-based test on September 30, 2026. Only candidates who pass Stage-1 can take this exam. This exam is more detailed.

After both exams, merit lists will be prepared based on your scores. Final selection will be done from this merit list.

Step 2: Look for the NORCET-11 notification and click on the apply link.

Step 3: Fill in your details carefully. Upload your photo, signature, and certificates as required.

Step 4: Choose your exam center and preferred AIIMS.

Step 5: Pay the application fee online.

Step 6: Submit your application before August 13, 2026. You will get a confirmation email.

Important: Keep a printout of your application form and admit card. You will need them during the exam.
