What Is This Job?

Bharathiar University, Coimbatore is looking for research staff to work on a DRDO-funded project. The project is about developing new antidotes for dangerous organophosphorous compounds. This is not a permanent job. It is a research position for a fixed period.

The positions are in the Department of Bioinformatics. The Principal Investigator is Prof. N. Jeyakumar. The university needs 3 people total: 1 Senior Project Associate and 2 Project Assistants.

Who Can Apply? (Eligibility)

You need to have a good educational background in life sciences or related fields.

• You must have a Ph.D. or M.Sc. degree
• Your subject should be Bioinformatics, Computational Biology, Life Sciences, or something similar

Preference is given to candidates who have NET, SET, or GATE qualifications. This means if you have passed any of these exams, your chances are better.

How Much Will You Get Paid?

The salary depends on which position you get:

• Senior Project Associate: ₹42,000 per month + 20% HRA (House Rent Allowance)
• Project Assistant: ₹20,000 per month + 20% HRA

HRA is extra money given for rent. It is 20% of your basic salary.

For How Long Is This Job?

The job tenure is initially 1 year. This means you will be hired for one year first. After that, it can be extended up to 3 years total if both you and the university agree.
