The Bihar School Examination Board (BESB) has opened online applications for the Bihar State Teacher Eligibility Test (STET) 2026. If you want to teach in Bihar schools, this exam is important for you. The application window is open now, but you have limited time. What is Bihar STET?

STET stands for State Teacher Eligibility Test. This is an exam you must pass if you want to become a teacher in Bihar government schools. It tests your knowledge of the subject you want to teach and your teaching skills. The test is conducted by the Bihar School Examination Board.

Who Can Apply?

Age Requirements

• Minimum age: 21 years
• Maximum age: 37 years for male candidates
• Maximum age: 40 years for female candidates
• Age is calculated as on 1st August 2026

Educational Qualification

For Paper 1:

• Bachelor's degree (Graduation) in your subject with 50% marks + B.Ed passed, OR
• Master's degree (Post Graduation) in your subject + B.Ed passed, OR
• Bachelor's or Master's degree with minimum 45% marks (as per NCTE rules) + B.Ed, OR
• 4-year BA BEd / BSc BEd course passed

For Paper 2:

• Master's degree in your subject with 50% marks + B.Ed / BA BEd / BSc BEd passed, OR
• Master's degree with minimum 45% marks (as per NCTE rules) + B.Ed, OR
• Master's degree with 55% marks + 3-year B.Ed or MEd course passed

The fee you pay depends on which papers you want to take and your category.

Payment is done online only. You cannot pay by cash or cheque.

How to Apply

Step 1: Visit Official Website

Step 2: Look for STET 2026 Form

Find the link for Bihar STET 2026 online form on the homepage.

Step 3: Fill the Application Form

Click on the application link and fill all your details carefully. You will need:

• Your name and date of birth
• Email address and phone number
• Educational qualifications
• Which paper(s) you want to take
• A recent passport-size photo
• Your signature

Step 4: Review Your Form

Check all information before submitting. Mistakes may cause rejection.

Step 5: Pay the Fee Online

After filling the form, you will be asked to pay the application fee. Use debit card, credit card, or net banking. Keep your payment receipt safe.

Step 6: Submit and Get Confirmation

After payment, your form is submitted. You will get a confirmation email. Save this confirmation number.

Selection Process

Your selection depends on your performance in the STET exam. The test has two papers:

• Paper 1: For primary school teachers (Classes 1-5)
• Paper 2: For upper primary teachers (Classes 6-8)

You can apply for one or both papers. The exam will test your subject knowledge and teaching ability.
