SBI Junior Associates Recruitment 2026 - Apply Now

State Bank of India (SBI) is hiring 10,662 Junior Associates (Customer Support & Sales) in the Clerical Cadre for 2026. This is a big opportunity if you are a graduate and want a government bank job. How Many Posts Are Available?

SBI has two separate recruitment drives this year:

  • Regular Recruitment: 9,124 posts (7,680 regular + 1,444 backlog vacancies)

These vacancies are spread across different states in India. But remember - you can apply for jobs in only one state. Choose carefully.

Who Can Apply? Check Your Eligibility

Education Required

You must be a graduate in any subject from a recognized university. This means you have completed your bachelor's degree (BA, B.Com, B.Sc, or any other stream). No specific subject is required.

Age Limit

Your age should be between 20 to 28 years as of 1st April 2026. This is the official cutoff date the bank uses.

Language Requirement

You must be able to read, write, speak, and understand the local language of the state you are applying for. For example, if you apply in Maharashtra, you need to know Marathi. If you apply in Tamil Nadu, you need to know Tamil. SBI will test your local language skills after you pass the main exam, before you join the bank.

How Much Is the Application Fee?

  • General and OBC Candidates: ₹750
  • SC/ST and PWD Candidates: No fee (free)

You must pay this fee online while applying. If you are SC, ST, or a person with disability (PWD), you don't need to pay anything.

Salary and Pay Scale

The pay scale is ₹24,050 to ₹64,480 per month. When you join, your starting basic pay will be ₹26,730 (this includes two advance increments that graduates get). This is a good salary for a clerical position in a government bank.

How Will the Selection Happen?

Preliminary Exam (Online)

First, you will take a preliminary exam online. It will be 1 hour long with 100 objective questions (multiple choice). This exam will be held in September 2026.

Main Exam

If you pass the preliminary exam, you will sit for the main exam. The exact details of the main exam will be in the full notification.

Local Language Test

After passing the main exam, you will be tested on the local language of your chosen state. You must pass this before joining the bank.
