Chauvinist shows excessive, aggressive devotion to one's country (from Nicolas Chauvin). Patriot loves country normally; Nationalist emphasizes national identity; Loyalist shows allegiance to ruler/government.
Misogamy (miso=hatred, gamy=marriage) means hatred of marriage. Gamophobia means fear of marriage (phobia=fear), while Misogyny means hatred of women.
Solipsist believes only their own mind exists. Nihilist denies all meaning, Existentialist focuses on existence and freedom, and Relativist denies absolute truths.
Ergonomania (ergo=work, mania=excessive desire) means obsessive work addiction. Workaholism is colloquial; Diligence and Industriousness mean normal hard work.
Magniloquent means speaking in a grandiose, pompous manner. Bombastic is an adjective for the language itself, and Sesquipedalian refers specifically to long words, not the speaker's manner.
Epigraphy studies inscriptions on stones or ancient objects. Paleography studies ancient handwriting, Archaeology studies past civilizations broadly, and Numismatics studies coins.
Plutocracy (pluto=wealth, cracy=rule) means rule by the wealthy. Oligarchy means rule by few, Aristocracy means rule by nobles, and Theocracy means rule by religious authorities.
Sesquipedalianism refers to using long, complex words unnecessarily. Verbosity is wordiness in general, Grandiloquence is pompous speech, and Bombast is inflated language.
Bibliophile (biblio=books, phile=lover) means a book lover. Bibliographer compiles bibliographies, and Bookworm is a colloquial term without the formal meaning of excessive collection.
Resilience means the ability to bounce back from hardships. Persistence means continuing effort, Perseverance means steady determination, and Constancy means unchanging quality.
